Asia CanTech goes virtualAsia CanTech goes virtual

Posted on 27 August 2020

After lots of deliberation, discussions with the industry, and looking at the different options available, we have decided to go virtual with our Asia CanTech event this year. With the way things are in the world at the moment, with social distancing and the possibility of countries closing their borders at the drop of a hat, there is no way we could guarantee an event in Vietnam at this stage.

Covid-19 world has changed the world dramatically, and we have decided to move with the times. The virtual Asia CanTech event offers you sponsorship and networking opportunities without the danger of infection and the difficulties of travel and quarantine.

For suppliers, Asia CanTech 2020 will run in a very similar format, with tabletops and presentations over a one day period. The big difference is that we will be online for a one month on-demand period, allowing suppliers to show videos, presentations, promotional material to the world’s can makers 24/7. There will also be sponsorship opportunities.

Can makers will be able to register to the event for free. They will be able to watch presentations and videos, download material, ask questions and have discussions privately on a one-to-one basis.

We look forward to welcoming you to our virtual event! To register, click here.

World Confectionery Conference rescheduledWorld Confectionery Conference rescheduled

Posted on 26 June 2020

With the developments of Covid-19 and difficulty with social distancing and travel for the events industry, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the World Confectionery Conference 2020.

The conference will now take place on Friday 26 March 2021.

The conference venue remains the same, the Brussels Marriott Hotel, Grand Place, Belgium, so we very much hope that you will all be able to join with us to celebrate some of the many key achievements within the confectionery industry through our event programme including the accompanying World Confectionery Awards. The deadline for entries regarding this element has now been extended to 10 January 2021.

For further details regarding sponsorship and the final available event speaking opportunities, contact events manager Kyra O’Sheen at [email protected]. Registration for the conference remains open – click here to register on the World Confectionery Conference website.

Asia CanTech 2020 updateAsia CanTech 2020 update

Posted on 11 June 2020

This year’s Asia CanTech conference is still planned to go ahead we are keeping a close eye on what governments are advising regarding PPE, social distancing, travel restrictions etc, and will keep you informed.

There is still a lot of interest in the event, and last week we had a booking from six Vietnamese can makers.

Asia CanTech conference director, Neil McRitchie, says that from talking to people in Vietnam, it is looking very much business as usual there, with bars, restaurants and shops open. The only snag is that they are not issuing any visas for foreign travellers at the moment! We will keep you all informed as the visa situation develops.

The hotel’s cancellation policy offers a full refund up to 48 hours before your stay. If we have to postpone Asia CanTech, you will of course be offered a full refund or be given the option of transferring the booking to the next show.

Neil says it looks like companies are saying to travel abroad when possible, if it is safe to do so. Different countries are at different levels of removing lockdown restrictions, and we hope that by August, things will have improved considerably. We are constantly reviewing the situation, and once the visa rules change we will be back with further information.

Stay safe and well, everyone.

A new decade and fresh faces...A new decade and fresh faces…

Posted on 30 January 2020

Hello everyone and a belated Happy New Year.

I’m Alex Rivers, Bell Publishing’s new digital editor. I previously worked as a proofreader in London and I’m excited about this next step, not to mention a shorter commute time!

Joining me in a new start is Roberto Morris, in a new role as office admin support.

I can be contacted at [email protected] and to contact Roberto, email [email protected].

We entered the New Year here at Bell Publishing with happy news of the arrival of Frankie’s new baby girl – we’re pleased to report that both mother and baby are doing well.

In other news, our CanTech International editor, Alex Fordham (who I, the second Alex, am now ironically sitting next to in the office!), has just returned from the Aerosol and Dispensing Forum in Paris. If you’d like to read his blog about the forum, click here.

In CanTech The Grand Tour news, we’ve just announced that Prakash Nedungadi completes our line-up of keynote speakers for our event in February. With 27 years of leadership experience behind him, Nedungadi has managed many leading global brands across a range of product categories and also has wide-spread knowledge of consumer-related insights and trends.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Nedungadi and the rest of our keynote speakers to the Grand Tour stage in a few weeks.

Elsewhere, the Confectionery Production and Food and Drink Technology teams are heading off to ProSweets in Cologne tomorrow, so make sure you keep an eye out for live updates on both Twitter pages: @confectionprod and @foodanddrinktec.

Merry Christmas!

CanTech International increases to 11 editionsCanTech International increases to 11 editions

Posted on 17 January 2019

CanTech International will be increasing its publications to 11 editions a year as of 2019. The current joint July/August editions will be splitting to make separate July and August issues, the latter becoming a full Supplier Profile issue.

The increase has come as the previous Supplier Profile – currently published in September – has grown so large it deserved its own issue.

The increase in publications hasn’t meant an increase in subscriptions though – so readers are getting 11 issues for the price of ten, and still with all the current benefits:

  • 11 issues delivered to any worldwide destination
  • Password access to online magazine
  • Back issue archive including all features
  • Digital issues as PDF or interactive e-zines
  • Weekly news alerts

Don’t delay, subscribe today!

If you’d like to be featured in the August Supplier Profile issue, or any of our other issues, please get in touch!
