Events and appointments

Posted on 20 November 2017

From 30 October to 1 November we held our annual Asia CanTech conference in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was a huge success, including the additional touch of a boat cruise along the Chao Phraya river in celebration of CanTech International’s 25th anniversary.

We can also now confirm that next year’s conference will be returning to Bangkok from 29-31 October 2018 – the event venue is yet to be confirmed, but please check our website and Twitter account (@CanTechIntl) for updates.

I would also like to remind you that Euro CanTech is returning in 2018, after a brief hiatus due to Metpack. The event will be held in Milan, Italy from 19-21 March.

With regards to the month of November, as usual, it’s been relatively busy. I recently attended the Anuga Foodtec press conference in Parma, Italy and had the opportunity to also pay a visit to the San Pietro Prosciutto di Parma factory nearby. Keep an eye out for an Access all Areas story detailing my experience in the December/January issue of Food and Drink Technology.

This week, Food Matters Live will be attended by the Dairy Industries International, Food and Drink Technology and Confectionery Production teams. Shortly afterwards, much of the office will be taking turns to fly over to Frankfurt, Germany for Fi Europe, while CanTech’s editor Alex will be heading off to Barcelona, Spain to pay a visit to Sandvik and the official opening of the company’s new research and development centre.

I’d also like to mention that we have a few new faces here at the Bell. Sophie Frondigoun joined the Tea and Coffee Trade Journal team as sales manager in October, while Kathy Jordan is the new sales manager of Food and Drink Technology, as of last month. We will also shortly be welcoming a new events sales executive who will work predominantly on the Tea and Coffee World Cup exhibition.

Keep an eye on our various social media pages for more updates.
